I read Lords of The Underworld (LOTU) back at 2010 when first began my paranormal romance reading spree. Together with Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole, Lords of the Underworld is a series that start my love for anything paranormal and romance. Back then, I'm not read Dark Hunter by Sherrilyn Kenyon yet, and I'm quite fascinated with the way Gena infused Greek myth, especially about Pandora box to her work. And so begin my love for LOTU. That's 4-5 years ago and now I'm still hesitant to read the new installment of LOTU. The last LOTU book I read was Paris's (The Darkest Seduction) and when I want to read Kane's and Torin's, I hear that Gena's writing change. I also see that it's like she doesn't know how to end her longest series yet. But, eh, enough about my babbling, let's talk about the manga adaption.

Born of Night is the first installment of the League series and this a book that have complicated history, if you read the foreword by Ms Kenyon herself. Born of Night is kinda Ms Kenyon's debut, a book that she wrote first and she write it in her darkest moment. No wonder Born of Night is so dark, darker compared with any Dark Hunter books (and no, I'm not talk about Acheron or Styxx). I know that tortured hero is Kenyon's trademark and she have a quirky habit to tortured her heroes. A lot. I almost cringe when read about Nykyrian's horrible childhood and how he still survived to become a high assassins in the League. I guess, normal people will go mad, yet Nykyrian still manage his insanity is beyond me.

Saat pertama melihat buku The Ghost Bride diterjemahkan oleh Qanita, jujur saya suka sama cover terjemahannya. Sempat masuk wishlist dan senang juga saat penerjemahnya memberikan buku ini buat saya baca. Hehe, makasih banyak ya Zaizai :* Terus terang saya sempat parno mau baca Ghost Bride karena ada elemen hantunya. Saya suka bayangin bayang - bayang gelap di apartemen itu kayak bisa gerak sendiri dan mengingat saya suka tidur sendirian, takutnya di sebelah ada orang lain yang bukan orang, hahahaha XD.

When I see the date I start reading Geish and finish, it's took me more than 1 month! Yeah, actually I kinda had a dry spell in reading because I'm distracted with a game that I played nowadays :P. I neglect Geist for many days, but there's something that niggling in my mind. Like an itch that need to be scratched. So, I decide to pick Geist again and finish it in one sitting.

The story start with a bang with our heroine, Deacon Sorcha Faris lose her husband and partner in a fight, and must bonded herself with Merrick Chamber. Deacon is like a peace protector, those who stand between the living and the dead, called geist. Deacon divided into 2 type. First, Active that is an offense type like Sorcha. Their partner called Sensitive, a person who support Active to fight Geist by  using Sight, a ability to peer into the Otherside when the Geist reside. The problem begin when Sorcha and Merrick go to Ulrich to investigate strange incident. On their way to Ulrich, they met Raed Rossin. Raed, called the Pretender, is the son of the last emperor of Arkaym (the setting on this book) who lose his throne to the current Emperor. Raed himself hold a curse, named the Rossin aka The Beast (that explain the lion on the cover). Things get complicated when Sorcha and Merrick face betrayal in Ulrich and face a sinister threat, and Sorcha get entangled by Raed, both mentally and physically.
